Golden Fry, Wetherby (Summer 2006)
The problem we were asked to solve was that the
paint was flaking badly on the existing roof,
causing rusting which presented a risk of
contamination to production.
This was a working, food-related factory, so
they could not afford disruption to production
or hygiene problems.
Our solution was to put a new roof over the
existing one, so we used an ash-grid frame,
fixing through the existing roof into the
steelwork underneath. We then installed
single skin cladding to the new framework.
We had an agreed timescale of 4 weeks and
completed the job on time and without incident
or disruption to production, much to the
client's satisfaction.
